An Agro-products Matchmaking event was held in HEPA office, Budapest on July 13, 2022. 

With joint efforts of Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA), China-CEEC Expo Organizing Committee Office, Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Ningbo Foreign Affiars Office and Ningbo, the event attracted great attention and reached positive results.

Mr. Mate Görgényi, head of department, International Business Development Department of HEPA delivered welcome remarks. He expressed welcome to the Ningbo delagation and also gave the charter flight a thumb-up. He said that Hungary is an important transit place for Chinese enterprises to explore the European market, and Ningbo is a pioneer city and a demonstration city for promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. The Hungarian Export Promotion Agency will continue to fully support the China-CEEC Expo, facilitate Hungarian enterprises to deepen economic and trade cooperation with China, and introduce more high-quality products to Chinese consumers.

Ms.HAN Juan, Deputy Director of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce extended regards to couterparts in Budapesta and delivered a speech. She said with the strong support of the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other national ministries and commissions of China, Ningbo opened a business charter flight to Europe. A group of buyers and entrepreneurs went to Europe to have face-to-face exchanges with new and old business partners. This is the first charter flight in China backed by the local government to help local entrepreneurs consolidate their ties with the European market. Hungary, the first stop of the business charter flight, has a solid foundation of economic and trade cooperation with Ningbo and profound friendship in terms of people-to-people exchange. From January to May 2022, Ningbo's imports from Hungary increased by 58.8% year-on-year. Hungary's Tokaj wine, duck down and foie gras have been known well among Chinese consumers. As the host of the China-CEEC Expo, Ningbo has always been ready to promote cooperation between China and CEE countries. It is expected that with our concerted effrots, more products will be introduced to China through the platform of the Expo both in volumn and diversity. More importantly, the enterprises of CEE countries could see a higher level of convenience at Ningbo Port and an even wider Chinese market.

Mr. YUAN Bin, from CEEC cooperation office of NINGBO Customs, gave a keynote speech about China’s Market Access Policy of Imported Agricultural Products and Food. Relative policies, procedures and status quo were illustrated.

Sun Chonglong, executive director of Ningbo Lianbang Changyun International Trade Co., Ltd., signed an exclusive agent agreement with his Hungarian partner to purchase frozen beef from Hungary for the next five years. Sun said. "This trip is of great significance. It shows that the government is actively helping enterprises maintain and strengthen business ties with foreign clients and factories."
