China-CEEC Cooperation ForumDate: 2020-11-19

On June 9, 2019, the China-CEEC Cooperation Forum was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Hu Chunhua, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.
Hu pointed out that since the launch of China-CEEC cooperation, fruitful outcomes have been achieved in various fields, especially in trade, investment and infrastructure. These outcomes are essential for promoting China-CEEC win-win cooperation and deepening China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership. China stands ready to work with CEE countries to synergize our development strategies and plans, expand trade exchanges, deepen investment and industrial cooperation, and accelerate infrastructure connectivity, so as to constantly enhance the breadth and depth of practical cooperation.
Hu stressed that China would unswervingly open up wider to the outside world, and continue to reduce the negative list, promote the all-round opening of modern service industry, manufacturing industry and agriculture, speed up the formulation of foreign investment laws and supporting regulations, strengthen international cooperation in intellectual property protection, expand imports of high-quality goods and services, and implement high-level policies to promote trade and investment freedom and convenience. China welcomes CEEC enterprises to work with Chinese enterprises to seize the opportunity, tap the potential and enhance the breadth and depth of practical cooperation.
Che Jun, Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, and Yu Jianhua, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, delivered speeches, and so did other distinguished guests including Jing Junhai, Deputy Secretary of CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of Jilin, Virginijus Sinkevičius, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, Filip Vujanović, former President of Montenegro, Alenka Bratušek, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Slovenia, and Tomislav Tolušić, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia. The forum was presided over by Yuan Jiajun, Deputy Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee. A total of 540 people attended the forum, including leaders of relevant departments of the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration for Market Supervision, the General Administration of Customs, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, as well as Central and Eastern European politicians, diplomatic envoys in China, representatives of international friendship cities, domestic provincial and municipal government officials, well-known corporate executives such as UL Global Vice President, SGS China President, Intertek China CEO, and news media.

Before attending the forum, Hu visited part of the exhibition halls of the 1st China-CEEC Expo & International Consumer Goods Fair, and met with the dignitaries of Central and Eastern European countries who participated in the forum.
