China's furniture manufacturer JPAI plans to build a new factory in Serbia, economy minister Adrijana Mesarovic said.
"It is quite certain that we can expect a new, large and significant investment from this Chinese manufacturer of modern furniture," Mesarovic said in a press release on Tuesday, following a meeting with the company representatives in China.
The company already operates a factory in the village of Krnjasevci, near the northern Serbian city of Stara Pazova.
JPAI opened its Serbian subsidiary, JPAI Home, in 2022. In 2024, JPAI Home posted revenues of 4.9 billion dinars ($49 million/ 42 million euro) and a net profit of 286 million dinars, its most recent annual financial statement showed.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mesarovic said that China's manufacturer of mattresses, sofas, and upholstered furniture Eon Home is considering investing in Serbia.
